Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run
July 11-13, 1997


The sixth edition of the Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run will start at 6:00 am, Friday July 11, 1997, in Silverton, Colorado. This year, the course will be run clockwise - a big loop through the San Juan Mountains of beautiful southwest Colorado: Silverton - Ophir - Telluride - Ouray - Sherman (Lake City) - Silverton, 101.3 miles, 33,000' total elevation gain, 11,186' average elevation, low point 7,680' at Ouray, high point 14,048' at Handies Peak.


1996 RESULTS!

A brief synopsis: Overall winner: Rick Trujillo, 30:44:17. First female: Betsy Kalmeyer, 40:43:13. There were 91 starters, 42 finishers within 48 hours - 46% finish rate. Relatively warm, some rain, no serious injuries. A big success and a fun time for all!
