The run was on hilly fire roads in Redwood and Chabot Regional Parks in the Oakland hills. The 50 miler has about 5500 feet of climb. The run is the annual celebration of your correspondent's birthday. A mile a year is all we ask. This run, believe it or not, is the oldest ultra in the Bay Area, this being the 24th(?) running.
