50K, 20 Mile & 8 Mile

at Fresh Pond, near Pollock Pines in El Dorado County, California
Come join us for the 14th Annual Run On The Sly - 50K, 20 Mile & 8 Mile endurance events which take place in the Sierra Nevada foothills on private and El Dorado National Forest roads and trails. Run On The Sly serves as a benefit for El Dorado Search & Rescue teams that risk their lives to save people who get lost in the wilderness. Run On The Sly offers a 20 Mile distance and a 8 Mile run for those who want to enjoy the California Gold Country but desire less of a distance challenge. Outstanding Aid Stations, post race music, post race meal, showers, custom awards for overall and age group winners and smiling race management are more features of Run On The Sly. Nearby, low cost, group campground facilities are available.
Time: 50K and 20 Mile Races start at 7:00 AM. 8 Mile event starts at 8:00 AM.
Location: Fresh Pond is near Pollock Pines, California, 50 miles east of Sacramento. Take Highway 50 to the Fresh Pond exit, a few miles east of the Sly Park Road exit.
Entry Fees: $60 for the 50K, $35 for the 20 Mile, and $25 for 8 Mile. August 3, pre-registration ends and race fees increase to $75 for the 50K, $45 for the 20 Mile and $30 for the 8 Mile. (Lower prices for 8 Mile if under 19 years old ($15) Entry fee is non-refundable/non-transferable.
Awards: Run On The Sly mug to all pre-registered 50K finishers completing the course within the cut-off time of 9 hours (4:00 PM). Age-group winners get embroidered Run On The Sly caps and over-all winners get custom awards. Shirts guaranteed for all runners registered by August 3rd.
Registration: Complete the entry form and mail with entry fee. Race numbers will be mailed and shirts can be picked up after the race. No packet pickup, but all runners MUST CHECK IN before their race starts, for safety reasons. Race day registration and runner check in starts at 6:00 AM. Race information at web site given below.
Campground: Limited space at Sly Park Group 2 Campground. $15 per car for 3 days.
Benefit: 100% of the net proceeds will benefit El Dorado Search and Rescue, a non-profit organization.
